The spot
« Pornic is first and foremost famed for the charms of its coast and the beauty of its resort. With its cliff-side houses, its castle, its sunny port, the sea in shades of pastel or jade, Pornic never fails to captivate visitors »
Training Locations
The trainings take place at Domaine du Golf, a foot away from the sea and the Noëveillard beach. This great environment will provide participants the ideal calm and concentration they need for their training. Before or after the course, Golf fans will enjoy a 18 hole golf course full of contrasts with wooded areas balanced by great wide spaces reminiscent of Scottish links!
Discovering Pornic
It’ s time to explore the coastal paths, discover a covered alleyway, a dolmen, a secluved cove, the grounds of a former abbey… In the 19th century, the powerful families erected fantastic seaside villas, whose coloured timber of balusters and friezes still reigns supreme. Here, in the gardens shaded by green oak trees, the families of the coast welcomed Flaubert, Litré, Michelet, Renan… not to mention Renoir who painted his “plage de la Noëveillard” in 1892, a vision of another age.
Maritimes pleasures
The ocean waters founded he reputation of the resort as of 1830. Pornic has a dozen fine beaches. In addition to the beach at La Noëveillard, with its bathing huts and old style casino, is reminiscent of the last century, a trip to the beach at La Source is not to be missed. La Source is now the site of the thalassotherapy centre in confirmation of the resort’ s time-honoured seawater therapy tradition.
Two marinas have been built as an extension to the fishing port. Some 1300 berths are available for all of you boating enthusiasts out there !
Unique flavours again an ocean backdrop
Numerous restaurants propose seafood and shellfish, their taste heightened by the distinctive and pleasant wines of the Pays de Retz. Mmmm, these oysters from the bay ! The multitude of fish on offer, accompanied by typical sauces from the region of the Loire, are a mouth-watering promise of what’s to come - the local cheese “Le Curé Nantais”, the beer of pornic “La brigantine” and the sublime sorbets of “La Fraiseraie”. Each course is served in Pornic’s wonderful crockery, hand-painted by artists from the local earthenware factory.
Pornic by night
The sun has set, the multi-coloured spotlights take to the stage…
As night falls, the artists and craftsmen gradually take over. The waiters compete with the croupiers in a bid to entice passers-by. The bars (Le Bahia, Au Bacchus, Bistrot des Halles, Le Nautique, Les Passagers du Vent, Le Liverpool, Les Touristes, La Cigogne, L ‘Estran, La Mer à Boire, Le Varech, Bar du Château, Gentlemen Coffee, Key 46, Le Nautique, Bernie Café, Le bout du Monde) and the casino (roulettes, black jack, Texas Hold’ em, Poker, piano-bar…) fill up, music from distant lands floats through the night…
